A Reimagining of Love

When we embark upon a healing journey, we must also examine our understanding of love, and be open to its evolution. Through the darkness of difficult times, a new light was shed on what love meant to me. I was compelled to deeply explore all of love's facets and manifestations. My inquisition emerged as a poetic expression from my heart.

“BLISS”

Love is a safe place…that offers protection…a warm dwelling for openness Love is a comprehension…a sense of being understood…seen…listened to…heard

Love is a petition to just BE…to show up exactly as you are…even if it’s messy Love is a knowing, a confidence…a deep trust that you will always be a priority

Love is an awareness of emotional exhaustion…from having to keep rising to so many occasions…amid unspoken expectations to always remain strong Love is an acknowledgement of strength…while space is created for vulnerability…for fears…for tears Love is an invitation to breathe…a deep exhale in a welcoming abyss…that gladly accepts pain as it is relinquished

Love is being told “WE will get through this”…a crucial reminder that burdens do not have to be carried alone Love is being reassured that your feelings are…how you feel…always appropriate and never wrong

Love is a purposeful and productive empathy Love is an adept agility…a gentle movement during complex and relentlessly challenging times Love is a sincere inquiry… “what are your needs?”…“how can I support you?”

Love is eternal Love is boundless Love is a transcendent presence Love is a flickering light…a code…for an encouraging message… “I’m still here with you” Love is a rebellious fearlessness…an unexpected gift to stare death down

Growth is an empowered choice…a claim of love over fear Growth is a defined intention…a precise navigator for decisions Growth is a daring nonconformity…a courage to show the truest self to others Growth is an unyielding commitment…a determination to have joy…wherever it can be found Growth is a continuous endeavor…an unending quest for light when darkness abounds

Growth is a self-forgiveness…an extended grace as the soul evolves Growth is an unlearning…a rebuke of untruths once accepted as universal laws Growth is a release…a letting go of that, which does not serve you Growth is a healing…a liberating reconciliation with the past

Growth is a rebirth…a purification of self-perception…an inward journey towards the highest self

Growth is a revelation…a wondrous epiphany of your infinite capacity to love Growth is a boldness…a revolutionary desire to possess a heart without borders Growth is a freedom…a permission to accept true love in all its forms
